Hazzan Tasat at Limmud UK
Hazzan Ramon Tasat, Director of Cantorial Studies at AJR presented numerous sessions and concerts at Limmud in the UK, from Dec. 21-27. Drawing on his vast expertise in diverse Jewish musical traditions, Hazzan Tasat offered programs in Italian, Morrocan and Sephardic music and poetry. In addition, he offered sessions relevant to the contemporary synagogue and musical scene. As President of Shalshelet: The Foundation for New Jewish Liturgical Music, Hazzan Tasat has been a major force in promoting new musical creativity. In recognition of his stature as a cantor, he led services there on Shabbat. Presently serving as Cantor of Temple Shalom, Maryland, he is renowned for creating meaningful and spiritual synagogue services and programs.
