Libbi BaMizrach – MY HEART IS IN THE EAST, featuring Hazzan Ram’n Tasat & friends on Wednesday, May 21, at 8 p.m. Imagine an evening filled with the glorious music of the Jewish communities of Spain, Italy, Holland, Morocco, Greece, Iraq, Turkey, Syria and Israel. 
The AJR faculty, alumni & the cantorial school choir will offer their repertoire of astonishing diversity and inspiration. Rabbi Marcelo Bronstein will speak of his Argentinian experience and Rabbi Matalon will play Syrian music on the oud. Fiesta Sepharad will perform Sephardic favorites with Hazzan Tasat and new liturgical music from the Shalshelet International Festivals will be presented. The Italian Jewish Music Ensemble will present selections from a rich but rarely-performed tradition. Finally exciting songs in Hebrew, Italian, Ladino and Aramaic will make you want to clap, sing and dance.
