Rabbi Moshe Cotel (’03) has been receiving requests from around the country to perform his program, Chronicles: A Jewish Life at the Classical Piano. Moshe was a renowned classical pianist, composer and Professor of Composition at Peabody Institute of Music, when he entered AJR to study for the rabbinate. Besides serving his congregation, Temple Beth-El of Manhattan Beach, he has been performing his new creation, ‘Chronicles,’ combining classical music with Jewish teachings, He was recently profiled in an appreciative article in the New York Jewish Week (‘Dual Loyalties,’ George Robinson, 3/19/08). AJR friends were delighted to hear Moshe present part of this program at our pre-Ordination Concert last year.
