AJR Celebrates Sukkot with CMSV
The Academy for Jewish Religion co-sponsored a Sukkot program together with The College of Mount Saint Vincent. The event celebrated the holiday in AJR’s Sukkah with learning, singing, and dancing. Rabbi Jeff Hoffman, AJR’s Rabbi-in-Residence and Sister Mary Ann Garisto, SC,
Director for Ecological/Global Concerns for the Sisters of Charity, each presented to the group, focusing on the spiritual, and ecological themes of the holiday. The participants, including students, faculty, and staff of both schools commented on the uniqueness of our situation as a Jewish Seminary housed on a Catholic campus, and enjoyed the ongoing conversations that result on both individual and communal levels between our religious traditions.
