I. Bible Texts:
The complete Masoretic text of the Hebrew Bible is the basic text for this course. It is available in many editions and configurations. You may wish to choose a compact size since you are expected to bring it to each class. A handy one to purchase is the small JPS Hebrew-English Tanakh. If you require a translation into a language other than English, please see me privately.
II. Secondary Readings:
The secondary reading assignments, for the most part, will be taken from the following books. Other materials will be handed out in class as necessary. Please note that in some cases there may be more up-to-date editions of these books currently available. You are free to use these, making your own allowances in page designations to make sure you are reading the appropriate assigned texts. The books can be found on reserve in the Beit Midrash.
