Cantor

The Huntington Jewish Center is seeking a part-time (20-30 hours per week) Cantor starting immediately. This person will help fulfill the spiritual and musical needs of our active and engaging congregation. Job Responsibilities include: Leading Shabbat services with our Rabbi one Friday and two Saturday services per month, Leading Holiday services (not High Holidays) with our Rabbi, Engaging with our Religious school students and families by supporting Hebrew/prayer curriculum and musical programs, Coordinating and providing B’nai Mitzvah instruction for five students & Organizing Torah Readers and readings on all Shabbat and Holiday Services. The ideal Candidate will be: personable, energetic, spiritual, reliable, and engaging, have a pleasant, trained singing voice that will inspire our congregation, be knowledgeable and comfortable with contemporary and traditional music, have knowledge of nusach, play an instrument & be a team player.  Salary: $50K-$70K depending on experience/availability.
