Tulane Hillel is seeking a High Holidays service leader for Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur for our blended community of students, faculty, and local participants. Our students are seeking traditional services that reflect their commitment to celebrating the Chagim. The service leader will be responsible for the following: Pre-work via Zoom with the TU Hillel Manager of Jewish Life and Assistant Director, Erev Rosh HaShanah, Rosh HaShanah morning (1st day), Kol Nidre, Yom Kippur Morning, and a combined Yom Kippur Mincha/Neilah, Shared responsibility with student leaders for English readings and prayer introductions, We are looking for traditional Hebrew-chanted nusach as well as melodies that encourage participation for both services. Primary Torah chanter and Torah reading for both holidays. Shared responsibility with the campus staff for English readings and prayer introductions. Our preference is that the service leader deliver a Sermon at two of our five worship services, specifically our Rosh Hashanah morning service and our Yom Kippur morning service. Base compensation is $5,000 plus travel, lodging, and meals. We are a warm community with an enthusiastic group of students who are excited to continue to come together and celebrate the Chagim. We have an in-house restaurant with an independent kosher certification available, which will be providing Chaggim meals. The majority of our recent student attendees come from Reform or Conservative backgrounds. We look forward to welcoming a service leader for our High Holiday experience.
