The Cantor/Program Coordinator is a respected part of our clergy team, who also enhances the spiritual life of the Congregation through music and song. The Cantor/Program Coordinator should be collaborative, innovative, and creative while showing a true understanding of, and respect for traditional Judaism. Jewish observance of Kashrut as well as Shabbat and Holidays in consonance with Conservative Jewish practice is a requirement for the Cantor/Program Coordinator. Clergy Responsibilities: Collaborate with the Rabbi in creating and leading innovative and meaningful worship, Co-lead Shabbat and other holiday and festival worship, Co-lead the Congregational Seder with the Rabbi, Torah reading and supervision of Torah readers, Share pastoral duties, Lead Shiv’a minyanim and unveilings on request, Cover for the Rabbi in his/her absence, Although Temple Beth Sholom does not have a religious school nor has there been a Bar/Bat Mitzvah in recent years, should one emerge, the Cantor will have responsibility for Bar/Bat Read More >
