As a Full-time Assistant Rabbi at K’vod Connect, part of the Jewish Family Service of Cincinnati, you will play a pivotal role in our community. This position focuses on in-home participant visits, supporting community events and educational programs, and managing Shalom Corps Volunteers. About K’vod Connect: K’vod Connect, a vital part of the Jewish Family Service of Cincinnati, is more than just a program; it’s a lifeline to the heart of the Jewish community. Originating as a pilot to alleviate loneliness among our seniors, it has flourished into a beacon of hope, providing comprehensive rabbinical, pastoral care, and support throughout Cincinnati. We are seeking an Assistant Rabbi or Cantor who will embody our mission of compassion, connection, and spiritual guidance. K’vod Connect continues to strengthen our Jewish community in Cincinnati through care and connection. Our program is designed to holistically serve our clients by offering one one-on-one engagement, enabling deep personal relationships that support participants’ well-being. The Assistant Rabbi or Cantor will support the value-add to K’vod Connect programming to address the needs of isolated Jewish seniors. Through Shalom Corps, the Assistant Rabbi will help to promote and train a cohort of non-clergy volunteers within the Jewish community to become Chesed Companions to support older adults with care and kindness. By providing culturally competent care and companionship, K’vod Connects Shalom Corps responds to the additional support our participants need. The Impact You Will Make: Your role is crucial. Areas of Responsibility: Rabbinic Pastoral Care and End-of-Life Support, Relationship Building and Outreach, Volunteer Management and Engagement, Data Collection and Reporting & Administrative and Organizational Roles. Qualifications: Ordination as Jewish clergy and continued membership in a professional rabbinic/cantorial organization, Strong administrative skills including using common Microsoft computer platforms (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.), Strong written and verbal communication, Experience with a Customer Relations Software (CRM) is preferred, Ability and commitment to respectfully serve the diverse religious needs of the Cincinnati Jewish population. Experience with a large spectrum of levels of observance and Jewish identities & Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. as well as stand, sit, reach, stretch for extended periods of time. The K’vod Connect Assistant Rabbi must be able to conduct services and holiday observances at retirement communities and other locations. Some evenings and weekends are required. In-person meetings with participants may occur in their homes, coffee shops, or other appropriate venues. Substantial time spent with participants and their loved ones requires a high degree of emotional energy and mental alertness. Must have mobility through the health institution’s facilities, which are handicapped accessible. Must have a valid driver’s license. Salary: $82,800 – $119,025 based on experience and credentials.
