High Holidays 6th – 8th Grade Teacher/Facilitator 

We are seeking High Holiday teacher to serve our lively congregation of approximately 200 member-families. Services and programs are held at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles (not at the synagogue in Santa Monica). Under the supervision and guidance of KM’s Education Director, the High Holiday 6-8th Grade Teacher will facilitate creative and educational programming. Position Qualifications: An outgoing personality that interacts well with adolescents, Availability on designated dates outlined below, Someone who is creative, engaging, Experience working with adolescents & Background in Jewish education. High Holiday Programming: Help create engaging youth programs for Day 1 of Rosh Hashanah (2.5 hour program) and the morning of Yom Kippur (3 hour program), Create lessons for the various activities, Create a warm, engaging, and enthusiastic environment for participants, Ensure participants’ physical and emotional safety and wellbeing, Supervise and assist with setup & cleanup & Lead an age appropriate, meaningful and fun, High Holiday service. Compensation: $75 per hour. Availability: Rosh Hashanah I, Thursday October 3 (morning + afternoon hours) & Yom Kippur, Saturday October 12 (morning + afternoon hours). 

High Holidays Childcare/Teacher

We are seeking High Holiday teachers to serve our lively congregation of approximately 200 member-families. Services and childcare are held at Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles (not at the synagogue in Santa Monica). Under the supervision and guidance of KM’s Education Director, the High Holiday Childcare/Teacher will oversee the play area. Position Qualifications: An outgoing personality that interacts well with children, Availability on designated dates outlined below, Someone who is patient and kind & Experience working with young children. High Holiday Programming: Create a warm, engaging, and enthusiastic environment for participants, Ensure participants’ physical and emotional safety and wellbeing & Supervise and assist with setup & cleanup. Compensation: $25 – $35 /hr, depending on experience. Availability: Erev Rosh Hashanah, Wednesday October 2 (evening hours), Rosh Hashanah I, Thursday, October 3 (morning + afternoon hours), Rosh Hashanah II, Friday October 4 (morning + afternoon hours), Kol Nidre, Friday October 11 (evening hours) & Yom Kippur, Saturday October 12 (morning + afternoon + evening hours).
