The Manager of Teen Engagement at Temple Sinai is responsible for planning and implementing various formal and informal Jewish educational experiences for our teen community. These responsibilities include our Jewsday (Tuesday) Night teen programming, our Teen Leadership Council and our Sinai Temple Youth Group (SiTY). This position works in partnership with the Associate Rabbi. The Manager of Teen Engagement will collaborate with senior staff, lay leaders and youth leadership (Teen Leadership Council – TLC) to develop and implement Temple Sinai’s teen programming vision (below), exploring and piloting new ideas while working to improve current teen programming. Teen Program Vision: Experiential Jewish learning rooted in Jewish values, healthy social development, leadership exploration, and the creation and celebration of community with Temple Sinai teens. Responsibilities: Develop personal relationships with teens and families of teens in the Sinai community through personal communication, 1:1 meetings, texts, etc. This includes teens not currently engaged in Jewsday Night, Madrichol, or SiTY programs, Connect with families who wish to learn about teen programming opportunities at Temple Sinai, Be in relationship with other teen/youth professionals in the Bay Area to share best practices and learn from other programs, Communicate the vision and goals of the teen programs to the wider Sinai community including the board and staff & Work with the Executive Director to determine a program budget for teen programming for 2025-2026 fiscal year. Areas of Responsibility: Jewsday Night, Teen Leadership Council (TLC) & SiTY. Qualifications: Has experience in developing, planning and implementing both formal and informal educational programs with youth, Has thorough knowledge of Judaism and an interest in life-long Jewish learning, Exercises discerning judgment regarding the physical and emotional safety of children and youth, Believes in and is committed to the moral development of youth, Possesses excellent interpersonal communication skills. Has the ability to communicate sensitively and compassionately with individuals from various backgrounds and a wide range of ages, Has a creative and inventive mind, a sense of humor, and is unbound by convention, Is an engaging and confident public speaker, Is committed to social justice, Has good time management skills and is adaptable to change, Feels comfortable working within and managing a budget, Pays attention to detail, Excited about designing creative flyers, videos and publicity materials & Has a flexible schedule allowing for evening meetings, weekend youth group events, overnights, and weekend trips. This is a full-time position that offers comprehensive benefits, including medical coverage, vacation time, sick day accrual and paid holidays. Hours for this position vary depending on activities. Occasional overnight travel is required. The salary for this position is $75,000 – $90,000 commensurate with experience.
