Congregation Beth Adam - Loveland, OH

Inclusive/Diverse, Independent/Non-Denominational

Beth Adam is a unique congregation with a strong identity and is looking for the rabbi who will lead us confidently as we write our next chapter together. We appreciate your interest in us. The congregation created a unique and joyful celebration of contemporary Judaism, is now conducting its search for the rabbi who will lead us into Beth Adam’s future. We see this as an opportunity to secure the years ahead and to ensure our continuing success as a humanistic Jewish community. Congregation Beth Adam’s mission is simple: to be a unique community integrating Jewish tradition and humanistic principles. Congregation Beth Adam’s vision is to be a permanent spiritual home and a meaningful voice for those who seek a contemporary Jewish identity and experience. We value humanistic principles of responsibility: origin of authority rests with each individual. We value open-minded learning that respects differing views and that supports connections with our Jewish heritage. We value the ability to evolve, meeting the needs of our growing congregation and a changing Jewish community. We value community engagement and social justice that is responsive to the ever-changing world. When we say “community,” we mean everyone. Everyone. No one is turned away. We find it fitting to have established ourselves in the birthplace of American Reform Judaism: Cincinnati, Ohio. That historic movement envisioned a Judaism that was more responsive to the modern world and less tethered to tradition. Beth Adam’s founding members have echoed that same view. While we are an independent congregation, we continue to share that vision. We’re seeking someone who: Embraces our Mission, Vision, and Values, and who shares our expressed ideas about the concept of God and liturgy, Is experienced at executive management skills and is a positive role model for our staff and members, Will focus on civic engagement in the greater community, Is a good speaker and communicator — both as a writer and on a human level, Is intellectually curious and open to both continuity and innovation and Is kind, empathetic, and welcoming. (Basically, we’re looking for a mensch.) Base salary is $110,000-$130,000. In addition to base salary, a benefits package that includes allowances for health insurance and retirement will be negotiated. To apply, please submit a cover letter that describes your interest in our congregation along with your curriculum vitae and a communication sample (can be writing, audio, or video) to [email protected]. Chair of Search Committee: Maureen Marks. Feel free to email us at this address or call us at 513-985-0400. For more information, go to https://bethadam.org/interview-rabbinical-search.
