Religious School Teacher

Congregation Shir Shalom of Ridgefield, CT, is seeking a part-time 5th grade religious school teacher for Sunday morning in-person Judaic Studies classes beginning January 5th. Knowledge of Judaism is preferred, specifically about Jewish holidays, Jewish culture and history, though curriculum will be provided. We use a spiraling curriculum and cover the following topics: Holidays, Torah, Israel/Jewish History, Hebrew, Jewish values. Teachers work closely with the Director of B’Yachad, gain a professional learning community and are welcomed to attend services and holiday events. We strive to make learning relevant and relatable, build strong Jewish identity and inspire lifelong learners. Some experience with children needed. Pay is $65/hour or $130/session.
