The Mt. Sinai Congregation in Wausau, WI is a URJ affiliated synagogue that serves as the center of Jewish life in North Central Wisconsin. Our members include a wide range of observance and backgrounds. We welcome all LGBTQ+ families and interfaith families. We take great pride in the experience ‘The Little Shul That Could’ brings to our members. We are seeking a part-time Spiritual Leader to lead the congregation beginning July 1, 2024. This person would ideally be trained and have experience as a Rabbi or Cantor. Requirements: Leads religious services and Torah study. (minimum 2 weekends/month with Torah Study), Leads High Holidays and Congregational Passover Seder, Works with B’nai Mitzvah students, Pastoral Care & Lifecycle Events. Desired: Hebrew Lessons for Grades 5-6, Religious School Participation, Community Engagement, Congregation Building, Monthly written article for Mt Sinai bulletin & Other holidays and festivals. Along with your resume and three professional references, interested applicants should share examples of their congregational and/or community engagement either online or in person. Initial interviews will be conducted over video conference. Final round candidates will be invited to conduct a Shabbat service in Wausau. Pay: $35,000.00-$50,000.00 per year.
