Tot Shabbat Songleader

Barnert Temple is seeking a songleader for Tot Shabbat. This is a once-per-month engagement. (If you are interested in additional songleading work, we have other opportunities in our children’s programming.) Barnert Temple is a vibrant and growing Reform Jewish community of over 500 families, with more than 350 students, aged 18 months to 18 years, in our school programs. We are large enough to service the diverse needs of our congregants, but small enough to provide an inclusive, comfortable, and nurturing environment. As a songleader for Tot Shabbat, you will collaborate with the Assistant Rabbi to lead a spirited and participatory Friday evening Shabbat experience for preschool-aged children and their families. We are looking for a candidate who enjoys singing and leading songs for kids. If you can accompany yourself on a musical instrument, that is a plus! We are open to songleaders who are in high school or college, as long as you can provide your own transportation. This position will be paid hourly, at $60-$100/hr commensurate with experience. In addition to a couple hours of rehearsal at the start of the school year, which can be scheduled at your convenience, Tot Shabbat is scheduled for one Friday per month (5-6pm) from September 2024 – June 2025 (excluding October).
