We are seeking a dedicated Ritual Director & Talmud Torah Educator to help lead our congregation’s ritual and educational life. This full-time role blends two core areas: Ritual leadership, ensuring smooth, meaningful, and halachically sound synagogue services and observances & Jewish education, directing our after-school Talmud Torah and guiding children and families through the Bar/Bat Mitzvah journey. Key Responsibilities: Ritual Leadership: Serve as  primary Torah reader for Shabbat and Yom Tov; read Megillat Esther and other megillot as needed (Sukkot, Pesach, Shavuot, Tisha b’Av), Lead services from time to time, Coordinate  minyanim outside regular schedules, including shiva homes and gravesides, and manage ritual items (Torah, siddurim, shiva chairs, etc.), Prepare the synagogue for holidays: change Torah covers, lay out machzorim, kinnot, Yizkor books, groggers, etc., Create and distribute page guides for High Holidays and other special services, Manage annual  lulav and etrog orders for members, Collaborate with the Rabbi and Ritual Committee to ensure smooth service coordination, Regularly attend services and support a high standard of kavod and kedusha & Other responsibilities as assigned by the Rabbi ,Talmud Torah & B’nai Mitzvah Education: Lead and teach CTI’s Talmud Torah—an after-school supplementary Jewish education program meeting three times per week for public school students, Develop and teach engaging lessons in Hebrew reading, holidays, Torah stories, mitzvot, tefillah, and Jewish identity & Plan and lead family and community events (e.g., model seders, holiday programs, parent nights) & Oversee Bar and Bat Mitzvah preparation: Manage scheduling and student progress, Provide or coordinate tutoring for Torah/haftarah and tefillah & Guide families through both ritual and logistical preparation. Qualifications: Strong Torah reading and Megillah chanting skills, Deep familiarity with Orthodox halacha and synagogue practice, Experience in Jewish education; curriculum development and classroom experience preferred, Excellent organizational and communication skills, Warm, approachable, and able to engage with youth, families, and the broader community & Passionate about Torah, Jewish life, and helping others grow spiritually and educationally.
