Temple Israel is seeking a dynamic, relational Music and Education Specialist to partner closely with our Cantorial Soloist in cultivating joyful, meaningful, and inclusive Jewish life through music. This individual will play a central role in music education, family-centered worship, and congregational musical vision. This is a hands-on, community-facing position ideal for someone who loves teaching, leading song, and building relationships across generations. The Music and Education Specialist will help shape engaging worship experiences, nurture musical learning, and strengthen connections throughout our congregation—from our youngest learners to adults and families. Key Responsibilities: In partnership with and supervision by the Cantorial Soloist, responsibilities include: Teaching music and leading weekly worship experiences in the Early Learning Center and Religious School, in collaboration with education teams, Leading music for Family Shabbat Worship Services, Assist in the planning and leading music for family and children’s High Holy Day services, Leading music for main Shabbat services, as needed, Assist in the creation of a cohesive, congregation-wide music vision, Creating and leading all-ages music initiatives that foster community through ensemble learning, rehearsal, and performance, Assisting in the planning and execution of Temple music programs, events, and in-home experiences with clergy throughout the year & Creating engaging social media content highlighting Music Department activities and programs. Qualifications: Background in music, Jewish education, or congregational music leadership, Strong vocal skills and proficiency on guitar, Familiarity with Jewish liturgy and holiday music, Collaborative, flexible team player who enjoys working across departments & Warm, organized, and comfortable working with people of all ages. Schedule & Availability: Flexible schedule required & Evening, weekend, and High Holy Day availability is essential. Salary: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 Annual. Full-time with benefits.
