Brith Sholom Beth Israel Synagogue (BSBI) Mission: To assist the Rabbi and Synagogue lay leadership in providing for the spiritual needs of BSBI’s diverse membership, fostering growth in the congregation, and conducting outreach in the greater Charleston Jewish community. Brith Sholom Beth Israel Synagogue (BSBI) is proud to be the oldest Ashkenazi Orthodox Synagogue in continuous existence in the United States. The shul has staunchly upheld Orthodox Judaism since its beginnings 170 years ago, and simultaneously warmly welcomes all Jews of varying personal levels of religious observance and backgrounds. The shul has daily minyanim every morning and evening.
