Monmouth Reform Temple is a synagogue of approximately 350 member families, with a religious school of 100 students in coastal New Jersey. Our historic congregation has served the Jewish community of Monmouth County for over 60 years. Monmouth Reform Temple in Tinton Falls, New Jersey is excited to welcome a passionate and visionary educator to shape, expand, and inspire our dynamic youth, teen, and family education programs, fostering meaningful connections and lifelong Jewish learning. The Director of Education is the architect and leader of educational programming for youth, teens, and families, working in close partnership with the rabbi, the Religious Education Committee (REC), and dedicated teachers. Education is a cornerstone of Jewish life and the means through which our congregation builds lasting relationships with and among our families. With a focus on making learning and Judaism joyful and engaging, the ideal candidate will bring creativity and enthusiasm to the position. More than just an administrator, our Director of Education leads by example, seeing the gifts of every child, building a sense of pride in Judaism, and finding joy in helping others on their Jewish journey. Areas of Responsibility: Curricular Responsibilities, Leadership Responsibilities & Administrative Responsibilities. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required with a preference for education or Judiacs-related fields, Demonstrated commitment to continued education: Master’s degree, MTEI or similar coursework strongly preferred, Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Canva, and Constant Contact, Strong interpersonal skills, an effective communicator both written and verbal, Jewish knowledge and Hebrew literacy– must be comfortable in a Reform Jewish environment and committed to teaching through a Reform lens, Ability to build relationships, understand the needs of multiple stakeholders, and work collaboratively to deliver on educational goals (i.e. students, parents, clergy, lay leaders, etc.), Proficient with technological trends in communication, Highly organized self-starter, able to manage multiple projects concurrently, Ability to work a varied schedule including nights and weekends & Flexibility – able to plan for the future, but also able to make adjustments as needed.
