B’nai Shalom of Olney (BSO) is a multi-generational community committed to making Judaism accessible, inclusive, and relevant within north-central Montgomery County, Maryland. As a community hub, BSO hosts religious services, holiday events, social groups, and educational programs. Home to 270 families, an Early Childhood School, and 85 Religious School students, our congregation is deeply committed to vibrant and meaningful Jewish education and youth engagement. Our K-10 educational program, Jewish Learning at B’nai Shalom (J-LAB), emphasizes experiential, hands-on learning to foster a strong foundation in Jewish traditions and teachings. We are seeking a passionate and innovative Director of Religious School Education and Youth Engagement to lead and enhance J-LAB and supplemental social programming. You are highly organized, technologically proficient, and committed to fostering meaningful Jewish education and youth engagement. Areas of Responsibility: Educational Leadership & Administrative Duties/ Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s (preferred) degree in education, Jewish education, Jewish studies, or a related field, or at least five years of experience in a religious school setting, Strong Jewish identity with expertise in Hebrew, Tefillah, and Judaica, Strong managerial and supervisory experience, Experience in educational administration, including budgeting and HR management, Proven ability to create and oversee engaging Judaic curricula. Ability to accommodate and embrace diverse learning styles & Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Starting Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 annually based upon education, experience, and qualifications. Full-time position with benefits.
