High Holiday Cantorial Soloist

Congregation Shaarey Tefilla is a modern Conservative synagogue in Carmel, IN, a suburb of Indianapolis. We are searching for a cantorial soloist to aid Rabbi Benjamin Sendrow, who has been with the congregation over 15 years, with the leading of our community’s High Holy services. Erev Rosh Hashanah, Rosh Hashanah Day One and Two (Shacharit and Musaf), Kol Nidre/Maariv Yom Kippur, Yom Kippur Shacharit, Martyrology, Yizkor, Musaf, Avodah, Mincha, and Neilah. The most important quality we are looking for is someone with spirit and energy who is easy to sing with and has melodies that will encourage participation. The congregation will have Torah and Haftorah readers for all the services. Compensation package may include air fare and hotel accommodations for the holidays along with a generous stipend (total package $7500 to $10,000).
