Congregation L’Dor Va-Dor (LDVD) is seeking a Rabbi. Requirements: Part-time position at inception with potential Full-Time (with Growth), Philosophy aligns with Rabbi Barry Silver – that is, a modernistic but rational/scientific interpretation of Traditional Judaism, Understanding / Comfort level with Cosmic Judaism: Read Rabbi Barry’s Cosmic Judaism book, Belief in Creative Power – Source of our being, either Cosmic yet Godly or God-like, Able to read Torah and translate / interpret – provide insight, Be accepting with regard to interfaith family and LGBTQ community and welcoming of their life cycle events, Being respectful of others beliefs and all faiths –– not close-minded, Be Mindful and proactive in the Importance of the Growth of the congregation, Be communicable and respectful in working with Members, Board members and clergy, Available for Shabbat and holidays, Open-minded, Charismatic, personable, approachable & Friendly – easy to get-along with. Preferred: Local or perhaps work with he/she virtually, Perform life cycle events for congregational members as well as outsiders seeking our/your service or advice, Be able to counsel / console those on “Mi Shebeirach” list or those families who recently lost dear ones, Be able to create programming that could help outreach and help the growth of our congregation, Available for other virtual and in-person programming, such as Torah Study, community events, Open minded to social issues (such women’s rights, LQBTQ rights, etc. & Willing to give back to LDVD for outside “gigs” obtained through LDVD, such as weddings, B’nai Mitzvahs, funerals, baby-namings, special celebrations, etc. Salary to be discussed.
