Rabbi/Student for High Holidays and/or Monthly Shabbat Services

Temple B’Nai Shalom, founded in 1959, provides a warm, spiritual Jewish community for families living in Braintree and surrounding communities. We are a relatively small, vibrant, Conservative congregation serving a diverse membership. Everyone is welcome; younger, older, casual attendee, single, married, with or without children, in interfaith or traditional marriages. We are served by a part-time rabbi and cantor, who provide us with spiritual guidance and leadership. We are fortunate to have many congregants participating in Shabbat services, educational programs or social functions. Weekly classes are offered to learn prayers and traditions. Advanced religious and Bar/Bat Mitzvah lessons are available. Primary duties: Lead congregation in High Holiday Services (Rosh Hashanah/Yom Kippur) in conjunction with the cantor, Provide D’var Torah and introduction to Haftorah & Prepare and deliver four sermons during the High Holidays. Optional: Lead monthly Shabbat services in conjunction with the Cantor. Provide D’var Torah, introduction to Haftorah and deliver sermon. Salary: High Holidays—$4,000-$5,000 and/or Monthly Shabbat Services–$400-$500.
