Hillel UGA in Athens, Georgia, is seeking a rabbinical student, cantorial student, or talented musician familiar with Reform High Holiday liturgy to be service leader for Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur for our students and local participants. The service leader will work closely with the Hillel UGA Staff, and will be responsible for the following: Erev Rosh HaShanah, Rosh HaShanah morning (1st day), Kol Nidre, Yom Kippur Morning and Mincha/Neilah. The service is Reform style, and we are looking for a talented musician familiar with Reform melodies and traditions who will lead the congregation through the liturgy and encourage participation. Shared responsibility with student leaders and the Senior Jewish Educator for English readings, kavanot, and prayer introductions. Primary chanter for Torah and Haftorah, but parts can be shared with staff and students. The staff of Hillel UGA will help work with you on teachings and sermons where appropriate.
