Cantor 

Adath Israel Congregation is Cincinnati’s largest Conservative synagogue, 170 years old, and  excited for growth and innovation. We are seeking a dynamic and inspiring Cantor to join our clergy team. Our Cantor will engage with congregants and support their Jewish journeys. Areas of Responsibility: Services: Serve as Adath’s High Holiday Cantor, working with our Choir Director and Lay Choir, Lead portions of traditional service and coordinate services thoughout the year & Create and lead alternative services, Engage adults and enrich their spiritual lives:  Teach adults Torah liturgy & Inspire and create opportunities for congregants to participate in and lead services, Officate life-cycle events as needed, Teach and inspire children and youth: Support music in our school(services, music classes, and trope class), Prepare B’nei Mitzvah students(starting fully in July 2025) & Engage post B’nei Mitzvah students in services. Attributes: Adept at leading while connecting with others, Skilled at encouraging congregants to participate, Balance respect for Adath’s tradition with creativity and innovation, Enjoy teaching children and adults, Model praying with Kavana, Work as part of a team & Able to play and lead with a guitar. Qualifications: Cantorial ordination or equivalent experience, Exceptional interpersonal skills required & Experience teaching and inspiring children and adults, one on one and in groups. Salary range:100k-130k, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Full time with benefits including vacation and health insurance. Start date: July 1, 2024.
