Temple Israel of Alameda is a Reform congregation with a diverse membership in the Bay Area. We are seeking clergy to lead occasional services while we thoughtfully conduct a search for our next permanent rabbi. Our congregation values inclusive, participatory worship that honors our traditions while embracing creativity and modern spirituality.  Originally a Conservative synagogue that transitioned to Reform in 1985, we honor traditions of both, with members from a wide range of Jewish backgrounds and levels of observance. We are looking for a warm, engaging leader who can: Lead inspiring Friday night and/or Saturday morning services, Offer thoughtful Divrei Torah and create meaningful connections with congregants, Incorporate music into services (through song, guitar, piano, or other instruments) to enhance the joy and spirit of shabbat, Foster an environment of inclusion and belonging, ensuring that all individuals and families feel welcome and valued, regardless of background & Occasionally assist with life-cycle events (if available). This is a part-time or as-needed position, ideal for someone who enjoys connecting with a small, vibrant community.  We are also open to student clergy in need of internship opportunities.
